just wanted to note that my original photo of the girl on the back cover is wearing a button that said “Flower Power”. that has been changed since the original album to Pearls Before Swine, but without my permission and i think it gauche.

Thanks Ian, your comment is much aprreciated On the internet we can find a lot about the albums, who’s playing with etc. But you hardly see the designers of the sleeves mentioned. So i found it interesting to make a weblog about my collection and the designers of the albums.

Odd to find this cover, painted and designed by me in 1976, suddenly displayed here. I wish I had done a better job on it, but hey I was a young man then. I remeber Michael coming to my studio in Covent Garden (6 Garrick Street)and kicking around ideas, I seem to remember also that Derek Taylor was involved? Happy days, strangely I don’t have a copy of the record only a proof of the sleeve, along with a proof sleeve (somewhere) of my 1972 Illustration for All The Young Dudes by Mott the Hoople, (rejected but still printed up by CBS)I might try and find it and scan it.

I finally caught up with this album cover a couple of years ago when I saw the Blues Band at Lulworth Cove. The sleeve notes explained why the Blues Band are still in existence today when this was their ‘final’ album.

The location was my studio in Easton Street, London WC1 and the foot reflected in the mirror belongs to my assistant at the time, Derek Frampton.

Looking at it today, I over-lit the make-up table!
